Renegade at ScapeCon VI!

Posted by Renegade Game Studios on Jul 21st 2026

Heroscape designers Alex Davy and Dyllan Fernandez, and Community Coordinator William Wellman, had the pleasure of visiting ScapeCon VI this year at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Indianapolis!

The largest fan-run Heroscape convention in the country, ScapeCon draws everyone from the newly-initiated-into-Heroscape to Heroscape world champions to clash over six jam-packed days of Heroscape gaming. The brainchild of Heroscape community rules lawyer Mike Schober, a dedicated team of community members now works to make ScapeCon happen every year. ScapeCon continues to expand its staff, programming and scope to support a growing number of players - this year, over 100 players joined in!

Between Renegade's prize support, Alliance War and Valkyrie Trial attendance prizes for all attendees, ScapeCon door prizes such as unique custom cards and the Don Ramon custom figure, a host of spectacular painted figures from Master Roshi, and increasingly valuable prizes for each day of the convention, it was a stacked prize room this year!

Community Coordinator William Wellman was especially excited to participate in the 5-Format Team event, and their team had matching shirts courtesy of Ryan Haggerty!

Heroscape designers Dyllan and Alex had a blast playing against some of the community's best and brightest over the course of the convention!

ScapeCon VI was also home to an Alliance War stop! 56 players duked it out over an all-day event, finally coming down to a thrilling match between famed players VegieDad and Boromir96.

Boromir96 snagged the win in a last-minute turnabout, and claimed his victory for the Verdant Pact! For details on all the latest Alliance War stops, follow along here.

While ScapeCon's event schedule offered over two dozen events with unique army-building challenges and top-tier competitive Heroscape experiences, perhaps no event was as memorable as the Massive Multiplayer Heat of Battle event at the end of the convention, in which a table full of players duked it out with heroes-only armies on a single gigantic board. The winner was the ineffable Gordon Berg's army which consisted of a Sudema who petrified 8 heroes over the course of the game!

ScapeCon VI was a blast to attend, and Renegade's Heroscape staff hopes to make it again in the year to come! Thank you for having us!
